Mason Reed and Bobby Charles

The Recommendation Quote from Mason Reed: “I listen to everything. Constantly. I’m obsessed. Listing my inspirations would take weeks and any mention of a few greats would severely limit your perception of my taste. Most of my song inspiration comes out of regular life. I like to take everyday characters and expand them for the sake of a good story. Let’s say I’m inspired by tons of music all the time, but right now a personal favorite is Bobby Charles ”

New to Bobby Charles? Start here: Bobby Charles’ record was a big inspiration while we were making the EP. It was weird ’cause he passed away the morning after we wrapped our mixing sessions. As soon as we finished our record, Bobby Charles checked out. It was very strange because we played that record over and over for the 6 months leading up to the recording. Josh Norton turned me on to it….good stuff.
