New to The Who? Start here: Pete Townshend was trying to put together another concept album to follow up Tommy. The songs that made up Who’s Next never gelled into a rock opera, but they did come together to form one of the greatest rock albums in history. Synthesizers bloop and blip until they are smashed apart by Townshend’s explosive guitar on the Baba O’Riley and We Don’t Get Fooled Again. The ballads This Song is Over and Behind Blue Eyes are also classic Who at their best.
